Zhu Hai Yun — unmanned-system research mother ship

Scope

• Marine materials package supplied against the yard specification
• Material documentation and certificates assembled for class review
• Supply phased to the build programme alongside the science equipment fit-out

Challenge

The first vessel of its kind — an unmanned-system mother ship with remote control and autonomous navigation in open water — so the material package had to satisfy class requirements for a configuration with no direct precedent.

What we did

Materials were quoted line by line against the yard specification, with the approval basis and certificates issued with the quotation rather than after delivery.

Outcome

Supplied in step with the build, with documentation accepted at class review.
